Hogwarts uses the same colors as Melissa Joan Hart's school. |

Notice the symbol for HARRY POTTER is the same as the symbol of Sayville, the demonic lightning bolt. That is the symbol of the Sayville schools, where Melissa Joan Hart spent her childhood. Author J.K. Rowling was able to find a publisher in 1997 because Sabrina the Teenage Witch was the number one kids show in England at the time. Sabrina is much bigger in England than in America. Sabrina started in 1996, and the show's influence can be seen in the book, experts say. Many say the book publisher, Bloomsbury, saw how successful Sabrina was and took a chance. J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury had an intimate knowledge of Sabrina and Melissa. There are also demonic ceremonies, lots of ghost stories, urban legends, and a school that teaches kids witchcraft in Sayville.
Origin of the Lightening Bolt Symbol
Harry Potter Shirt
Rowling gives two contradictory origins of the lightening bolt symbol:
SCHOLASTIC INTERVIEW February 3, 2000
SCHOLASTIC: "Why did you choose the lightning bolt as a
trademark for Harry Potter?"
JKK: "Just because I decided that it would be an interesting and
distinctive mark."
AOL
Live from Edinburgh - 2000 America Online, Inc.
UKMC Live: Beanie6426 asks... "Why did you pick a "lightning bolt"
to be the symbol on Harry's forehead?"
JKR Live: "It had to be something that suggested the intensity of
the pain that Voldemort was trying to inflict upon him but a simple and
plausible shape for a scar."
So in WITCH interview is she telling the truth?

Ash Wednesday was a big deal in Sayville since there are a lot of Catholics. Kids would put the ashes on their foreheads in the shape of a lightning bolt, to match the symbol of the village and schools. What the kids would like to do would later become the Harry Potter symbol. |

Compare the Sayville shield to the Slytherin shield, of Harry Potter. Slytherin is the place of the bad kids, like Draco, in Harry Potter. |

Where did JK Rowling get her ideas for Harry Potter? She did a lot of research into her book. She claimed that she did her book at a cafe, but where would she get access to all the history in her book? I speculate she probably went on the internet. JK Rowling has been accused of plagiarism by an author called N.K. Stouffer who earlier wrote a book called "Larry Potter." Did JK Rowling plagiarize from Larry Potter as NK Stouffer clamed in her lawsuit? Her books mentioned muggles and bears many similarities to Harry Potter. Just because someone takes a few ideas does not necessarily mean that person is a plagiarist. To merely be inspired by or get inspiration from is acceptable. Was this part of the inspiration for Harry Potter? There is even a Lilly in the NK Stouffer books. All this can be found at http://realmuggles.com. Her book the "The Legend Of RAH And The Muggles may of been what did inspire Rowling. Stouffer lost the suit to Rowling though. The owl supposedly came form another book, though the author later said "So what?" To copy exactly is bad, but get an idea and make it only similar, but different, is more acceptable. She was sued, but won the case. But will Stouffer sue again? Time will tell. Who knows how she thought up her ideas, imagined, and used her wild imagination. There was another court fight over the intellectual property of Harry Potter. There was even a court fight in Holland by Russian Dmitry Yemets over a book about a character called Tanja Grotter. Yemets lost. There was an argument that it was a parody during the legal action.. Where does JK Rowling get her ideas? Neil Gaiman and the Worst Witch. DC Comics and The Stouffer lawsuit.
